KHARTOUM
SEE THE BLUE AND WHITE NILES MERGE
The confluence of the Blue Nile – filled with water from the Ethiopian highlands – and the White Nile, flowing from central Africa’s Great Lakes, at Khartoum is known as the “Mougran”. You can watch the waters merge from the White Nile Bridge. Otherwise, join one of the regular ferries to Tuti Island – an agricultural setting and ideal site for bird spotting, that is a welcome haven from the bustle of Old Khartoum – or relax on the terrace of the Blue Nile Sailing Club. |
